{"id":218,"date":"2023-02-04T02:12:22","date_gmt":"2023-02-04T02:12:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/doc.audience1st.com\/?post_type=knowledgebase&#038;p=218"},"modified":"2023-04-20T23:47:42","modified_gmt":"2023-04-20T23:47:42","slug":"using-a-credit-card-swipe","status":"publish","type":"knowledgebase","link":"https:\/\/docs.audience1st.com\/index.php\/user-guide\/first-time-setup\/using-a-credit-card-swipe\/","title":{"rendered":"Using a Credit Card Swipe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To speed up taking credit cards at front of house (whether for ticket\/subscription purchases, donations, or retail purchases), you can purchase a\u00a0credit card reader\u00a0that plugs into a USB port.<\/p>\n<p>On any Audience1st screen where credit card info can be entered, you can either type the info manually or swipe a card.\u00a0<strong>NOTE:<\/strong>\u00a0For security reasons, the 3 digit \u201cCVV code\u201d on the back of the card (for AmEx, 4 digits on front of card) is\u00a0<strong>not<\/strong>\u00a0recorded on the credit card\u2019s magnetic stripe, so that information\u00a0<strong>always<\/strong>\u00a0must be typed in manually.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"testing-your-swipe-reader\">Testing Your Swipe Reader<\/h2>\n<p>You can test your swipe reader by clicking the Options tab (you must be a Box Office Manager level or above to see that tab) to reveal the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/docs.audience1st.com\/index.php\/user-guide\/first-time-setup\/site-wide-options\/\">site-wide options page<\/a>.
